JUNIOR TEAM TENNIS - Sign-up deadline, May 1st

Junior Team Tennis is a 7-week program of team practices and USTA competitive match play for boys and girls ages 8-18 who want to play and compete on a team or are looking for an introduction to competitive play.
Teams consist of players of the same gender (except for 10 and under, which is coed), age and skill level. Teams are grouped into beginner, intermediate, upper intermediate and advanced competitive categories and are broken into 10 and under, 12 and under, 14 and under, and 18 and under age divisions.

Players will practice 2x /week and play matches with their teams against other clubs on Mondays. Practice and match times will be determined based on players’ age division.

JTT is a competitive program, however the primary goal is for kids to have fun while learning a life-long sport!

JTT Season and Match Schedule

  • Regular season practices will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting May 26th.
  • Matches begin Monday, June 8th and end Monday, July 20th.
  • State championships are Jul 31st - August 2nd (for qualifying teams).
  • Each match will consist of 1 singles and 1 doubles line, and will be played concurrently.
  • Players may rotate (sub) in and out of both matches to allow all players to participate in each match. This is not required and traditional matches can still be played.
  • Home matches are at the Sundance Hills courts.
  • Away matches are in communities or clubs in the Denver-metro area. Players should arrive at the courts 10-15 minutes before matches.

Formation of Teams
Scott will manage the formation of teams, keeping them at a maximum of 7 players each.

For players who were on a team last year, team placement will be based on:
● Your assessment of your child’s “Level of Play” and last year’s team placement. Click on the link to see the USTA level descriptions
● If your child has played JTT before, their USTA number will be needed at registration. If you can’t locate the number, email Scott.

For players new to JTT, team placement will be based on:
● Your assessment of your child’s “Level of Play” . Click on the link to see the USTA level descriptions
● If you are new to JTT and unsure of your player's level, please contact Scott.
o New players will also need to create a USTA account to obtain a USTA number. USTA numbers are required to play. Visit USTA account creation to get started. Junior accounts are free (you do not need to pay for the membership).
